Delivery is free within 40 miles of Topeka, Indiana, and charged by the mile past that. Send us the address where the building is going and we’ll confirm your delivery. Any delivery charge is on your quote before you order anything.

Homestead Barns builds every building to order, typically in 3–4 weeks, up to 5–6 weeks in the busy season, and it arrives fully assembled. Homestead Barns can also build it on your spot instead, for 20% more than the base price. Getting your spot ready has what delivery needs.

Permits in Elkhart County

Elkhart County Planning & Development, at the Public Services Building in Goshen, is the county’s planning, zoning and building office. Its Building page has the permit application and the county’s minimum site-plan requirements (checked Oct 2026).

Where you live decides who you talk to first. The county’s FAQ says the countryside and the towns of Middlebury, Bristol, Wakarusa and Millersburg use the county’s planning staff, while the cities of Elkhart and Goshen and the town of Nappanee have their own (checked Oct 2026). Inside Elkhart, Goshen or Nappanee, start with the city or town.

The county was updating its Development Ordinance in 2026 (checked Oct 2026), so go by the current rules, not an old copy. Whether your building needs a permit at its size: call the county’s building department to check, at (574) 971-4678.
